Dream beach in western Crete
Falassarna is not really a town but one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete. To us it is the dream beach par excellence of western Crete. In 2003 the beach was officially chosen as the third most beautiful beach in Greece. Ten years ago it was an insider tip but today it is slowly developing a tourist infrastructure. Falassarna was already inhabited in ancient times.
Today you can see the remains of a temple complex. During the season there are sun beds on the beach, beach bars and a few studios and flats but unfortunately the latter are not bookable yet. A proper little location has not developed yet. Falassarna is a good location for a day trip from the north coast. The driving time from Charnia Airport via the main road is around 70 to 80 minutes. It will not be long before this area develops into a new holiday destination.
